GINGER BEER CAN CHICKEN image

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 disposable aluminum pan
2 TBS kosher salt
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp sugan
1 tsp black pepper
3/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 grund red pepper
2 (3.5 - 4 lb) whole chickens
2 cans Ginger Ale
Ginger Ale Glaze
2 cups Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer
2 TBSP light brown sugar
2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/8 tsp ground red pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Light grill for indirect cooking over medium high heat. Place disposable baking pan under grill. 2. Stir next 6 ingredients; sprinkle inside chicken cavity and cover outside of chicken. 3. Place chickens on beer can/beer butt cooker. Pull legs forward to form tripod. Fold wings back. 4. Pur water to depth of 1 inch into disposable pan. Place chicken on unlit side of grill above pan. Grill covered 1 hour and 30 minutes or until meat thermometer registers 165 degrees. Remove and let stand for 10 minutes. Serve with Ginger Ale Glaze. Ginger Ale Glaze: 1. Stir together ingredients and bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook stirring occasionally for 15 - 20 minutes, or until reduced to about 1/4 cup.
