I got this recipe from my friend Chef Bobby. He normally made enough to feed a couple of hundred so I adapted it to feed a family of 4.

Number Of Ingredients 8

5 oz vermicelli fideo
1 lb lean ground beef
2 c diced tomatoes
1 tsp chicken base
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp onion powder
3/4 tsp garlic powder
to taste salt

Steps:

  • 1. Cook vermicelli until al dente. Drain.
  • 2. While pasta is cooking, place ground beef,tomatoes, onion powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt and chicken base in a skillet.
  • 3. Mix well. Brown the ground beef mixture stirring frequently. Drain excess grease.
  • 4. In a bowl, mix the pasta and beef mixture well.
  • 5. Serve immediately.
  • 6. **Great served with tortilla chips.
