EGGS GOLDENROD image

Yield Serves 3 to 4 people

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 slices wheat bread, toasted
5 or 6 eggs, hard cooked
3 T butter
4 T flour
1-1/2 cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Add flour and cook until it toasts very slightly. Turn off heat. When mixture stops sizzling, add the milk all at once, whisking madly. Turn heat to medium high and whisk until thickened. Chop eggs and add to mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over toast.
