Easy Gaelic Irish Steak image

How to make Easy Gaelic Irish Steak

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 10-12oz sirloin steaks
olive oil
salt & pepper
2 TBS butter
2 TBS minced garlic
1/4 cup Irish whiskey
1/2 cup heavy cream

Steps:

  • Brush steaks with olive oil.
  • Coat all sides generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat pan to med/high.
  • Lay steak in pan and cook 4-5 min, flip and cook an additional 4-5 min.
  • Top each steak with 1 TBS butter & 1 TBS minced garlic.
  • Let butter melt and flip steak, spooning butter over top.
  • Lay steak on sides, searing edges, maybe 10 sec each side.
  • Remove from pan and let rest while making whisky cream sauce.
  • Add whiskey to pan, scraping bottom bits from pan, letting whiskey cook off alcohol, about 5 min.
  • Lower heat and add heavy cream, whisking constantly. Cook and simmer until sauce thickens & reduces. Add more salt & pepper if needed.
  • Pour sauce over top of steak.
