Steps:
- Cream butter and sugar together, till light and fluffy.
- Beat eggs and add 3/4 of them to the mix. Reserve the rest till the end of prep.
- Add the almond extract
- Mix together the flour, cinnamon and baking powder.
- Blend with the mix, then knead until the dough holds together like a ball, (no longer crumbly)
- press into an 8x8 pan - or a heart-shaped pan!
- Decorate with the whole almonds, and then use the rest of the egg by adding a tsp. of water and then brushing the mixture on top of the cake. This will give it a nice shine.
- Bake at 350F for 50 - 60 minutes, until a tester in the center comes out dry.
