Creamed Crabmeat in a Patty Shell image

This is a recipe my girlfriend made for me just before she moved to Houston, TX. This would be great served at a small luncheon in individual puff pastry shells!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 lb mushrooms, fresh
4 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp flour
1 c chicken stock
1/2 c cream
1 1/2 c crabmeat
1/2 c parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp paprika
3 Tbsp sherry

Steps:

  • 1. Saute' mushrooms in skillet in 1 Tablespoon butter, then remove from pan. 2. Melt remaining 3 Tablespoons butter and stir in flour until blended. 3. Slowly add chicken stock and cream, stirring constantly. 4. When the sauce is boiling, add the crabmeat and mushrooms. 5. After these ingredients are well heated, stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and paprika. 6. Remove from the heat and add sherry to taste. Serve in Puff Pastry Shells.
