Drunken Bear Dish image

This recipe was given to me from my friend.I made this with beef once and was really good.Good recipe for hunters.

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 tablespoon(s) lard or other grease
1 pound(s) bear loin
1/4 teaspoon(s) marjoran
1 teaspoon(s) parsley
1/2 teaspoon(s) curry powder
1 medium onion,chopped
4 stalk(s) celery,sliced
1/2 pound(s) fresh mushrooms,sliced
1 ounce(s) 100 proof vodka
4 medium tomatoes,dieced
1 ounce(s) sherry
16 ounce(s) sour cream

Steps:

  • In large skillet melt 2 tablespoons lard.Add bear lion and brown quickly.Add spices,cover and simmer 45 minutes or until meat is tender.
  • In another skillet melt 2 tablespoon lard.Add onion , mushrooms and celery, and saute 10 minutes.
  • When meat is tender ,add vegetables to meat skillet.Pour vodka over mixture and light with a match.Be careful with fire.
  • When fires dies out ,add tomatoes and sherry and mix well.Simmer 2 minutes.
  • Add sour cream,mix well and heat just to boiling. Serve with rice.
  • Bear meat you can substitute with beef or venison.
