Crockpot White Beans and Ham image

This is a great bean soup and a break from pinto beans which is almost a staple here in Texas. I love this served with hot corn bread.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 lb small white beans
4 c chicken broth
4 c water
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 c diced ham
1 medium onion, chopped
2 ribs celery, diced
1 Tbsp garlic, minced
1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 bay leaf

Steps:

  • 1. Rinse and drain the white beans.
  • 2. Place beans in the crockpot along with all of the other ingredients.
  • 3. Stir to combine, cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or until beans are tender.
  • 4. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
  • 5. Great when garnished with chopped green onions and hot cornbread.
