Crock-Pot Smothered Chinese Pepper Steak image

This recipe came from a friend at Holloman AFB in New Mexico many many Many years ago. Have adjusted it a little over the years and I now use whole wheat flour and a Lite Soy Sauce but the flavor remains the same.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 lbs round steaks, cut into thin strips
1/3 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
1 onion, cut into rings
2 green bell peppers, cut into strips
3 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 garlic clove, smashed
4 green onions, sliced
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 cup bean sprouts (optional)

Steps:

  • Put steak, flour, pepper in Crock-Pot. Stir until well coated.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Cover and cook on Low 8 hours.
  • (High for 4 hours).
  • Remove cover to thicken.
  • Serve over Noodles or Rice.
