Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplins image

This is by far the BEST chicken & dumpling recipe I've ever had. This recipe filled my 8qt crockpot to the brim, as you can tell in the picture. I used 4 packages of Bisquick mix because my husband LOVES dumplins...2 packages are plenty! I didn't salt or pepper until served...even then it didn't need it. I received rave reviews from my Mother In Law, Husband, and 5 year old nephew. The nephew came back the next day for seconds and finished off what little was left. My recipe was adapted from Foodie TV recipe that I had found on Facebook. I urge you to try it!!! You won't regret it!

Number Of Ingredients 6

4-6 - boneless skinless chicken breast
2 tablespoon(s) butter
2 can(s) cream of chicken soup
2 cup(s) chicken broth
1 - vidalia onion, thinly sliced & diced
2 package(s) bisquik mix

Steps:

  • Place Chicken, Butter, Soup, Onion, & Chicken Broth in Crock Pot. Fill with enough water to cover the chicken completely - Replace lid and cook 5 to 6 hours on HIGH
  • Cut up chicken breasts or shred the chicken. (I just cut it up in bite size chunks with a knife while still in the crock pot)
  • Approximately 30 to 45 minutes before ready to serve - Mix up your Bisquick according to the package directions. Drop by spoonful into crockpot. Cover and let the dumplings bake. (Because I had so many dumplings, they all rose and clumped together at the top.) I took a knife and chopped them up and pushed them back down into the soup.
