Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 Whole apples
6 Cups water

4 Cups granulated sugar
1 Box Sure-Gel pectin

  • Hang (or use a collander) cheese cloth over bowl allowing juice to drip out.
  • Add 6 cups apple juice back to crock-pot and heat on high for 1 hour.
  • Add candy canes to juice and stir until candy canes melt.
  • Heat on high for 30 minutes.
  • Add sugar and stir.
  • Heat on high for 30 minutes.
  • Add sure-Jell and stir until dissolved.
  • Transfer liquid mixture to a pan and place on stove.
  • Cook on high until mixture comes to a rolling boil.
  • Test mixture on spoon to see if it gels, if so then it is ready for jars.
  • Once jars are filled, put lids and rings on while hot and you will get a perfect seal and no need for the water bath.
  • NOTE: While making this I thought "what would I use this on". The answer: dip pretzels in it or mix in with ice cream. Even on crackers!.
