CRISP AND TANGY COLESLAW image

1 red cabbage quartered and thinly sliced (1/4")
1 medium red onion quartered and very thinly sliced (1/8")
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 cup vinegar
2/3 cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Combine dressing ingredients and bring to boil. Let dressing cool. Just before serving prepare and combine shredded cabbage with sliced onion. (I doubled the recipe and used 1 head of red cabbage and one green which made it very pretty and colorful.) Pour room temperature dressing over cabbage and toss.
