CRAWFISH BREAD image

1/4 cup margarine
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup bell pepper -- chopped
1 clove garlic -- minced
1 pound crawfish tails
1/3 cup green onion -- chopped
2 tablespoons hot red pepper sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 loaves frozen bread
1 cup mozzarella cheese -- shredded
1 cup cheddar cheese -- shredded
melted margarine

Steps:

  • Melt 1/4 cup butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and saute 5 minutes. Stir in bell pepper and garlic. Cook 5-10 more minutes. Add crawfish, green onion, pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well. Cover and simmer 5 minutes, remove from heat. Preheat oven to 350. One loaf at a time, roll out bread dough on lightly floured surface to about a 20 x 5 inch rectangle and cut into 4 squares. Spoon 1/4 cup crawfish mixture in center of each piece and top with both cheeses. Moisten edges of dough with a little water and fold dough over, pinching edges to seal. Place on greased baking sheet and brush with melted butter. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
