Cousin Gail's Glazed Apples & Sausage image

A few years ago I was visiting my cousin and she made this for breakfast along with french toast and pan cakes. I had to ask for this recipe. You will be surprized with the taste of this. Sounds like a funny combination, but believe me THIS IS GOOD!

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pound(s) uncooked pork sausage links
2 large tart apples, peeled and sliced (may not desire to peel)
1 large onion, chopped or sliced as desired
1/3 cup(s) water
1/4 cup(s) packed brown sugar

Steps:

  • Cook the sausage acording to package directions.
  • Meanwhile, in a large saucepan,combine the apples, onion, water and brown sugar.
  • Cook over medium heat for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the browned sausage, heat through.
  • Serve hot with pancakes or french toast.
