Classic Lasagna image

This was give to my by one of my girl friends Pat Belcher in 2005. So tasty I asked and received her recipe

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 lb ground beef
3/4 c chopped onion
2 Tbsp oil
1 can(s) (1 lb) tomatoes, chopped or pureed
12 oz tomato paste
2 c water
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugr
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano leaves
8 oz lasagna noodles, cooked
1 lb ricotta cheese
8 oz mozzarella cheese (shredded)
1 c grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a large heavy skillet, lightly brown meat and onion in oil.
  • 2. Add tomatoes, paste, water, parsley, salt, sugar, garlic powder, pepper,and oregano and simmer uncovered about 30 minutes.
  • 3. Cook noodles as directed; drain.
  • 4. Spread about1 cup sauce in bottom of 9x13 pan
  • 5. Alternate layers of noodles, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella & parmesan, ending with sauce, mozzarella & parmesan.
  • 6. Bake 40-50 minutes @ 350. Allow to stand 15 minutes, cut in squares.
