CINNAMON BREAD image

Yield 2 loaves

Number Of Ingredients 12

Mix Together
1 1/2 C. lukewarm milk
1/2 C. sugar
2 tsp. salt
Proof Yeast - add to above liquid
1/2 C. lukewarm milk
1 tsp sugar
2 packages of yeast
Sir in..
2 eggs
1/2 cup soft shortening (I heat the Crisco with the milk)
7-7 1/2 C. sifted flour

Steps:

  • Add the flour in 2 additions, usign the amount necessary to make it easy to handle. Knead to smooth and elastic. Let rise until doubled. After the second rising, divide the dough in two. Shape the dough into a rectangle. Brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll the dough and shape into a loaf. Let the loaves rise a second time. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes or until they sound h0llow when tapped. Brush with melted butter when still warm.
