Christmas Star Bread image

I have just now found this and really want to try it this Christmas. I'm posting it for safe keeping. It looks wonderful. Prep time includes rising time.

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 - eggs
60 gram(s) sugar
2 pinch(es) salt
2 tablespoon(s) warm milk
1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
500 gram(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) yeast
30 gram(s) butter
2 tablespoon(s) nutella
2 tablespoon(s) milk

Steps:

  • In a large bowl mix 2 eggs with sugar, salt, warm milk, vanilla, flour and yeast. Mix the ingredients well
  • After mixing for 5 minutes add butter. Mix until a very soft dough is formed.
  • Cover it with a kitchen towel and leave the bowl in a warm place for about an hour and a half so the dough can rise.
  • In another small bowl mix 2 tablespoons of Nutella with 2 tablespoons of milk.
  • Use a round baking pan and grease it. Spread your working station with flower.
  • When the dough has risen remove 1/4 of it and spread it into a "sheet" of dough in the prepared pan.
  • Use a tablespoon and cover the dough with the Nutella and milk mix. Spread another dough "sheet" over the Nutella mix. Repeat to make 4 layers ending with the dough on top.
  • Cut the dough like the the picture . Twist each piece. You will now have a dough star in the round pan.
  • Preheat oven to 205 degrees c (400f) Leave the prepared bread for another 15 minutes before you bake it. Put in the oven and bake until its golden brown. Leave it for another 15 minutes before you bake it. Put the pan into a preheated oven and bake for about 30 - 45 minutes at 220 degrees or until its golden brown.
