Chocolate Frosting Glaze image

This is a very fudgy icing for any cake, but especially good on my "The Only Chocolate Cake Recipe You'll Ever Need". I usually double the recipe so I have lots of frosting.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 stick(s) butter or margarine
1/2 cup(s) unsweetened cocoa
1/3 cup(s) milk
1 pound(s) box powdered confectioners sugar - sifted
3 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 cup(s) nuts, chopped (walnuts or pecans) - optional

Steps:

  • Bring to boil, butter, cocoa, milk. Watch carefully and stir constantly to avoid burning.
  • Remove from heat. Add sugar, vanilla and nuts (if desired).
  • Pour on warm cake. Cool cake before cutting.
