Chili Cheese Puffs image

Number Of Ingredients 5

9 slices bread white sandwich
1 (10-ounce) stick sharp cheddar cheese shredded at room temperature
1 stick butter ( 1/2 cup) or margarine, at room temperature
1 green chili canned drained, rinsed, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Trim crusts from bread slices cut in fourths. Place on baking sheet. Blend remaining ingredients place heaping teaspoonful of mixture on each bread square. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes, or until puffy and lightly browned.* For variety, add a few chopped green onions and dash of liquid hot pepper seasoning to above cheese mixture.
