Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 Use 9 X 13", no smaller as potatoes will not cook well. Put half defrosted hash browns in pan. Mix cheese whiz, sour cream, soup, and green onions in a pan and pour over hash browns. Crush corn flakes, combine with softened butter until covered. Cook for 45 minutes covered. Remove cover and cook for 15 minutes more. (Note: once accidentally cooked for 45 minutes uncovered and it was fine) Let it cool a bit, then eat.
