Cheddar Chowder image

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 cups water
2 cups potatoes
0.5 cups carrots
0.5 cups celery
0.25 cups onion
1.5 teaspoons salt
0.25 teaspoons pepper
0.25 cups margarine
0.25 cups flour
2 cups milk
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
1 cups cooked ham

Steps:

  • Add water to potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain.
  • Make white sauce with margarine, flour and milk. Add cheese; stir until melted.
  • Add undrained vegetables and ham, if desired. Heat, do not boil.
