Calabrian Chili Pasta image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound Fettuccini
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
6 cloves Garlic cloves
1 piece lemon zested and juiced
2.5 tablespoons Calabrian hot pepper paste
1 cup shredded parmesan
1 pound Shrimp (deveined and peeled
1/4 cup Butter
1/4 cup Dry white wine (dry vermouth)
1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
1/4 cup Cream (optional)

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Cook the pasta and set aside
  • Dry shrimp and sprinkle with spice mix and red pepper flakes (set aside)
  • In a large sauté pan, add the olive oil and butter and heat over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the lemon zest (saving the lemon juice for later) and sauté for 15 seconds.
  • Add the Calabrian hot pepper paste and wine and reduce
  • Add shrimp and cook until almost pink (3-4 minutes)
  • Incorporate cream and parmesan and finish shrimp
  • Add pasta to pan, stir in and serve
