BUTTERY YEAST ROLLS image

Yield 20-24 rolls (if small ball

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup warm milk
1 egg
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup butter

Steps:

  • 1. Pour 1/2 cup water at 100-115 degrees into warm Kitchen-Aid mixing bowl. Add sugar and then sprinkle yeast on top of water. Stir with wooden spoon and set aside in draft-free place to rise (about 15 minutes). If no rise, start over. 2. Add warm (100-115 degree) milk, room-temperature egg, slightly melted or room temperature butter and salt into mixing bowl (don't mix). Add flour on top and begin mixing on low speed. 3. Knead the dough until very elastic and stretchy. It will be sticky. 4. Place in a warm-bowl coated with oil, and place in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size (about an hour). 5. Punch down and roll into balls, place in buttered pans. Brush tops with melted butter, place in warm place and let rise again. 6. Bake 375 for 15-18 min, brush with remaining melted butter.
