BRUSSEL SPROUTS WITH VINEGAR GLAZED RED ONION image

Number Of Ingredients 5

20 oz. brussel sprouts
2 TBSP butter
2 TBSP Olive Oil
2 small red onions, thinly sliced
4 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar

Steps:

  • Trim outer leaves of sprouts. bring pot of water to boil and add salt. Add sprouts and cook until bright green about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and plunge into ice water bath to cool. Drain and cut in half. Heat 1 TBSP of butter and 1 TBSP of Oil in a large heavy skillet, add sprouts and cook, tossing until brown and crisp about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and transfer to bowl. Add remaining butter and oil to same pan and add onions over medium heat cook for about 4 minutes. Add vinegar and cook for about 1 minute. Add sauce to sprouts.
