BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES image

Yield 10 "cherry-size" jars

Number Of Ingredients 2

3 quarts sliced cucumbers 1/4 in thick
3 medium onions

Steps:

  • Sprinkle with 1/2 C salt and let stand 3-5 hours. Drain. Combine 3 C white vinegar, 3 C sugar, 1/4 C mustard seed, 1/2 t celery seed and 1/8 t red pepper. Pour over drained cucumbers, bring to a boil and seal in hot sterilized jars.
