Bourbon Apple Hot Toddy image

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 cups apple cider
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
A few gratings nutmeg
Seeds from 1 vanilla bean
One 2-inch piece orange zest
3/4 cup best-quality bourbon, optional
Whipped cream, for serving

Steps:

  • Combine the apple cider, brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla seeds and orange zest in a medium saucepan over medium heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Divide among heat-proof mugs, top with a splash of bourbon if desired and a few dollops of whipped cream.
