While recently traveling in East Tennessee with my family, we stumbled across a great little restaurant. For dessert, my husband ordered his favorite, blackberry cobbler. Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c fresh or frozen blackberries
1/2 c sugar or splenda
3 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick butter or margarine, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in large bowl. Toss washed berries* in sugar/spice mixture. *Blueberries or apple pie filling may be substituted.
  • 2. Place fruit evenly in butter/margarine greased 13x9 baking dish.
  • 3. In another bowl, mix cake mix and melted butter with spoon. Consistency will be fairly dry.
  • 4. Drop cake mixture onto fruit evenly.
  • 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • 6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
