Easy Chicken Tacos image

This is usually my 'go-to' for left-over chicken. My kids and grandkids love it, and it is so quick and easy to make.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 clove garlic, minced
8 oz can tomato sauce
dash(es) each: hot sauce (tabasco), oregano, salt, pepper
8 oz chicken - cooked, boned and chopped
tortillas or taco shells
grated cheese, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce
salsa or hot sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Cook and bone chicken. In skillet, heat oil; add onion and garlic and saute until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce and seasonings and continue to simmer about 5 minutes longer; add chicken and heat through.
  • 2. Divide mixture among tortillas or taco shells and garnish with hot sauce, shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato.
