While browsing through some of my Grammie's cookbooks I came across a section of sauces. This one was under the title of simple butter sauces and it said to glorify vegetables, fish or eggs, and pasta. So, since I had some asparagus that I needed to cook and my husband & I both like breakfast for dinner I decided to make this...

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 bunch fresh steamed asparagus
BLACK BUTTER SAUCE
1/3 c butter
1 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
dash of salt and pepper
can add chopped garlic or capers

Steps:

  • 1. Steam your broccoli or this would be great on fish too. Let 1/3 cup butter bubble in small saucepan until it's a golden brown. Pour in 1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice and let foam up. Add a dash of salt and pepper and serve at once.
