Beer Braised Ribs image

These are so tender and the meat just falls off the bones. Gravy is delicious.

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 pound(s) pork ribs
1 teaspoon(s) each salt pepper garlic powder onion powder and mccormicks chipotle garlic seasoning.
2 tablespoon(s) oil
1 large sweet onion chopped
2 can(s) 12 oz beer i use bud light
2 cup(s) beef stock
2 package(s) powdered beef or pork gravy
1 package(s) lipton onion soup mix
1 1/2 cup(s) chopped fresh mushrooms
1 cup(s) heavy cream

Steps:

  • Mix the seasonings together and rub on the ribs. Let sit on counter for 30 minutes. Heat a large skillet and add oil. Sear the ribs on all sides. Remove from pan. Add the onions and garlic and saute until browned. Pour a little beer in pan to deglaze then add the ribs back to pan. Add the rest of the beer. Place in preheated 375 degree oven and bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  • While ribs are baking make the gravy. Place a little bit of oil in a saucepan. Add the mushrooms and cook until browned. Add the beef broth and gravy mixes. Stir and bring to a boil. Add the heavy cream and onion soup mix. Cook until thickened.
  • After the ribs have been baking for an hour and a half Pour the gravy mixture over the ribs. Allow to bake another half an hour.
  • Serve the ribs with the gravy over top and there will be plenty more for potatoes or noodles or rice
