- Here's a great homemade gravy that you can make without any drippings. For each cup of gravy, take 1 tablespoon of butter and melt in heavy saucepan. Add one tablespoon of flour and stir and cook until flour is slightly "browned". Take one teaspoon of granulated bouillon (I use Wylers) and place in one cup of water. Microwave bouillon and water for 2 minutes. Slowly add heated bouillon to your butter and flour mixture. Stir continuously, til thickened. Makes one cup gravy. Use chicken bouillon for chicken and turkey and beef bouillon for beef and pork!
