This banana bread is very easy and quick to prepare. A friend of my mother's gave me the recipe. I prefer it without the nuts, but it's entirely up to you. I love the sugar on top; it gives it a nice extra sweetness.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time.
- Sift flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture.
- Mixing well, fold in mashed bananas, vanilla and nuts.
- Pour into loaf pan.
- Top with a sprinkling of granulated sugar.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes.
