Asparagus Supreme image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 (10 3/4-ounce) can asparagus spears and juice
4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
Cracker crumbs
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons Sauterne wine
3 or 4 dashes Tabasco
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Garlic salt (optional), salt, pepper, and sugar to taste
1 cup grated New York State cheese
1 slice bread, crust trimmed
1/2 cup slivered almonds blanched

Steps:

  • Into buttered casserole, alternate layers of asparagus, eggs, cracker crumbs, and soup that has been mixed with asparagus juice, butter, wine, and seasonings. Top with cheese, small pieces of bread, and almonds. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes.
