Apple Flambe image

A great finish to a dinner party!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pkg spice cake mix
1 can(s) apple pie filling
8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 fresh apples, sliced into rings
cinnamon, lemon rind shavings, butter
2 oz brandy

Steps:

  • 1. Bake cake as directed for 8-inch rounds. Cool and split each layer in two. Spread pie filling, cinnamon, lemon rind between each layer.
  • 2. Ring outer edge with whipped topping. Saute apple slices in butter and place on top of cake. Just before serving, heat brandy and pour over apples. Flame and serve immediately!
