My family loves it and I make them for dessert after dinner. It is so easy and simple to make a bread and it is so delicious and tasty.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 - (10 ounces) jar maraschino cherries
1 3/4 cup(s) all purpose flour
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
2/3 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1/3 cup(s) butter or margarine, softened
2 - eggs
1 cup(s) mashed ripe banana
1/2 cup(s) chopped macadamia nuts or walnuts

Steps:

  • Drain maraschio cherries, reserving 2 tablespoons juice. Cut cherries into quarters; set aside. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl; set aside. In medium bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, eggs and reserved cherry juice; mix at medium speed of electric mixer until ingredients are thoroughly combined. Add flour mixture alternately with mashed bananas, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in cherries and nuts. Lightly spray 9X5X3-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake in preheated 350 F. oven 1 hour or until loaf is golden brown and toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack. Store in tightly covered container or wrapped in foil.
