Honeynut squashes are the tiny brown squashes that look kind of like miniature butternut squashes. The flesh is a bit darker and very sweet. This simple preparation is easy, delicious, and makes a fun presentation for dinner guests on Thanksgiving or for any fall or winter meal. I made mine in my Ninja® Foodi™ digital air fryer, and my instructions are rather specific for that configuration. Adapt accordingly for your oven or air fryer, which also may need to be preheated (the Ninja® Foodi™ heats so fast that no preheating is needed).

Steps:
- Scrub any dirt off the squashes, slice them in half lengthwise, remove the seeds, and lay them cut-side up on a cutting board.
- Put 1 teaspoon butter in the cavity of each squash half, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Place them directly on the air fryer basket pan.
- Set air fryer to air-roast at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cook until the squash is tender, about 25 minutes. Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with chopped pecans if desired.
