I make this a few times a year in December and November as a tribute to my Grandmother. This was her signature family recipe and we often make it on Christmas or Thanksgiving in remembrance of her.

1 cup hot water
2 (6 ounce) packages raspberry Jell-O gelatin
1 (18 ounce) jar applesauce
1 (8 ounce) package frozen raspberries

Steps:

  • Mix the hot water and Jello together. Stir very very well.
  • Add nearly the whole medium-sized jar of applesauce and the raspberries.
  • Put in a circular mold (similar to a bundt pan) and chill overnight to set.

1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup half-and-half cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package (3 ounces) raspberry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 package (10 ounces) frozen sweetened raspberries, thawed
Fresh raspberries, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over cold water; let stand for 1 minute. In a small saucepan, combine half-and-half and sugar. Cook and stir just until mixture comes to a simmer. Remove from the heat; stir into gelatin until dissolved. , In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Fold in gelatin mixture. Stir in vanilla. Pour into a 6-cup mold coated with cooking spray. Refrigerate until set but not firm, about 45 minutes., In a small bowl, dissolve raspberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in raspberries until blended. Carefully spoon over cream cheese layer. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. , Unmold onto a serving plate; garnish with fresh berries if desired.

1 cup sour cream (do not use fat-free)
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 (6 ounce) package raspberry Jell-O gelatin
2 tablespoons sugar
2 3/4 cups boiling water
1 (10 ounce) package frozen raspberries in light syrup
1 (16 ounce) can applesauce

Steps:

  • Stir together topping ingredients; cover and refrigerate overnight (or long enough to soften and slightly melt the marshmallows, if you prepare this in the morning, it should be ready later in the evening) When the marshmallows are softened, beat the mixture with electric mixer until smooth, to create a topping for the jell-o.
  • Dissolve the jell-o and the sugar in boiling water; add in the raspberries, stirring until well dissolved and mixed.
  • Stir in the applesauce until well mixed.
  • Pour into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Refrigerate until firm.
  • Spread the sour cream/marshmallow mixture on top.
  • Refrigerate any leftovers.

2 1/2 Cup Boiling Water
1 Cup Applesauce
1 Box Frozen Red Raspberries with juice/syrup

Steps:

  • Take the raspberries out of the freezer. Boil the water, take off burner and stir in the jello until dissolved. Pour into your serving dish/bowl, then add the applesauce and the frozen raspberries. Stir, then place in the refrigerator until set.
