My girlfriend gave me this recipe many years ago. She was telling me how easy they are to make when your in a hurry or just craving something simple and sweet. I have made these to take to picnic's I've been invited to and everyone wanted the recipe. Of course being from Pennsylavania, I just had to use Hershey Chocolate Chips....

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pkg of your favorite yellow cake mix (18.25 or 16.5 oz.) size
1 c quick-cooking rolled oats, uncooked
3/4 c (1 1/2 stick) butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 c hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips.
3/4 c chopped nuts (optional)
3/4 c flaked coconut (optiona)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat your oven to 350.
  • 2. Combine cake mix, oats, butter and eggs in a large bowl and mix well.
  • 3. Stir in cocolate chips and mix well.
  • 4. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 5. Place in oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 6. Remove from oven and cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet to a wire rack to completely cool.
  • 7. Store in airtight container.

4 Tbsp Self Raising Flour
2 ½ Tbsp Caster Sugar
2 Tbsp Water
1 Tbsp Whole Milk
1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
½ Tsp Vanilla Essence / Vanilla Extract
Chocolate Chips to Taste
A Pinch of Salt

Steps:

  • Put flour, sugar & salt together in a large mug.
  • Then add the water, milk, oil & vanilla essence to the mixture.
  • Mix thoroughly with a fork and make sure there's no lumps!
  • Add the chocolate chips to the mug and mix again.
  • Microwave for 1½ to 2 minutes.
  • Wait for it to cool down then enjoy!

1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 ounces bakers unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 (300 g) package BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, divided
1/3 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Heat oil and the 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate in a 9-inch square pan in 375°F oven for 4 minutes, until melted.
  • Add water, sugar, egg, flour, salt, and soda.
  • Beat with a fork until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in half of the chocolate chips.
  • Spread in pan.
  • Sprinkle with nuts and remaining chips.
  • Bake 30 minutes.
  • Cool.

1 ¼ cups water
1 cup quick cooking oats
½ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup flaked coconut
1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the quick oats. Cover and let stand for a few minutes, until the water is absorbed. While still warm, stir in the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until the butter is melted, then stir in the eggs. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, stir into the oatmeal mixture. Fold in the coconut, 1 cup of the chocolate chips and the nuts. Pour into the prepared pan, and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
  • Bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake springs back when lightly touched.
