Number Of Ingredients 13

1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1-1/4 cups applesauce
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the egg and applesauce; mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cloves. Stir into creamed mixture just until moistened. Fold in raisins and nuts. , Pour into a greased 8x4-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups applesauce
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 x 5 inch loaf pans.
  • Beat together eggs, sugar, and oil. Blend in applesauce, and then sour cream or buttermilk. Mix in flour, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon. Stir in raisins. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake for 80 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

This is a "really QUICK" way to make a moist and Yummy raisin bread. The Longer this sits the better it gets. Honestly. This also freezes well for Holiday Gifts.

2 1/3 C bisquick original
3 eggs
1 C brn sugar
1 1/2 c applesauce
1/2 C vegetable oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp pure vanilla extract ( not imitation)
1 1/2 C raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Beat eggs, add sugar, applesauce, oil & vanilla in mixing bowl. Beat until mixed.
  • 2. Add: Bisquick, mix well. Stir in raisins, pour into oiled loaf pan.
  • 3. Bake: @ 350 until top springs back when touched. (about 1 hr.)some ovens a little more. will be a nice golden brown top. NORE: This will rise a lot and the top will usually split before its done.
  • 4. wrap in foil while warm. serve warm or freeze till your ready for a snack. this makes wonderful gifts.

Early in my marriage money was tight and I love to give gifts. I started baking breads and cookies as a way to give something thoughtful that didn't cost an arm and a leg. This bread was one of my friends favorites and it's so easy.

1 1/2 c applesauce, unsweetened
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 c flour
1 c raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2. grease loaf pan
  • 3. combine applesauce and baking soda in small bowl--set side.(this mixture sizzles and foams)
  • 4. cream butter and sugar in large bowl
  • 5. stir in egg, cinnamon, salt and cloves
  • 6. blend in applesauce mix (this will appear to be curdled).
  • 7. mix in flour slowly until mix is smooth.
  • 8. fold in raisins and pour into greased pan
  • 9. bake 65-70 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 munutes then invert onto cooling rack.

2 cups raisins
1/2 cup all-bran cereal
2 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
  • In small bowl, combine eggs, applesauce, raisins, and bran cereal; let stand about 10 mins and stir.
  • In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Stir vegetable oil and brown sugar into raisin/applesauce mixture.
  • Add raisin/applesauce mixture to dry ingredients, stir until moistened completely and turn into loaf pan.
  • Bake 60-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

1 1/2 cups dark raisins
1/3 cup cherry brandy
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon low sodium salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup applesauce
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, then grease & flour one 9 inch loaf pan.
  • Soak raisins in brandy 15 minutes.
  • In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon & cloves, then set aside.
  • In medium bowl, combine applesauce, eggs, brown sugar & oil, mixing well.
  • Add raisins & nuts to applesauce mixture & mix well.
  • Add fruit mixture to flour mixture & stir only until flour is moistened.
  • Pour into greased pan & bake 50-55 minutes.
  • Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing loaf of bread to cool completely on wire rack.
