CABBAGE ROLL CASSEROLE

I use to make regular cabbage rolls until I found this recipe. Now, instead, I make this and it is as good as the regular cabbage rolls and alot easier.

2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 ½ pounds chopped cabbage
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 teaspoon salt
2 (14 ounce) cans beef broth

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium high heat until redness is gone. Drain off fat.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine the onion, tomato sauce, cabbage, rice and salt. Add meat and mix all together. Pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour broth over meat mixture and bake in the preheated oven, covered, for 1 hour. Stir, replace cover and bake for another 30 minutes.

1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
5 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 large onion, sliced
2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1/2 cup 2% milk
Minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Season with pepper and garlic powder. Layer the beef, potatoes and onion slices in a shallow 2-qt. baking dish. Combine soup and milk; pour over all. , Cover and bake at 350° for 1-1/4 hours or until potatoes are tender. Garnish with parsley.,

½ cup uncooked brown rice
1 ⅜ cups water
1 pound ground beef
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
½ cup chopped green onion
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water and brown rice to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium skillet over high heat, brown the ground beef and drain fat.
  • Stir the mushroom soup, green onion, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and pepper into the skillet with the beef. Simmer on medium low heat for 10 minutes. Serve over the rice.

Grew up eating golumpki. Yes I'm mostly Polish, but always wanted more sauce on them and didn't like the 'mushiness' of the burger inside. This is the version I came up with and hope you enjoy!

1 head green cabbage, cut into bite-size pieces
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried parsley
¼ teaspoon onion powder
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups water
1 cup white rice
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 (32 ounce) container crushed tomatoes (such as Hunt's®)

Steps:

  • Boil cabbage in a stockpot until tender, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain well.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Mix salt, parsley, onion powder, and black pepper into ground beef.
  • Bring water and rice to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed, 20 to 25 minutes. Stir tomato soup and crushed tomatoes together in a bowl.

1/4 lb ground beef (more if you have it)
1/2 cup dried mushroom
1 tablespoon garlic powder (or 2 cloves minced)
1/2 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
1/2 cup frozen carrots (Could use dried)
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 cups water
1 cup rice

Steps:

  • brown meat in saucepan (with garlic if using cloves).
  • Drain Meat.
  • Add sauce, mushrooms, carrots, seasonings, rice & water.
  • Bring to a slight boil.
  • Cover saucepan.
  • Reduce heat.
  • Cook covered until rice is done (approx. 10-15 minutes at my house).
  • Enjoy.

Great on Pinneapple rice ! I Use brown rice and pinneapple chunks in my rice cooker using all the juice from can and adding water to reach desired amount and sprikle in a little red pepper. OOPS, I think thats another recipe ! LOL

1 lb ground beef
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tsp butter
1 large onion cut into eighths
2 medium green peppers, cut in eighths
1 small garlic clove, minced
1 Tbsp soy sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Mix ground beef, salt and pepper in bowl.
  • 2. Shape into 8 patties.
  • 3. Brown quickly on both sides in butter in skillet.
  • 4. Remove patties to hold platter.
  • 5. Combine green peppers, onion, garlic and soy sauce in skillet.
  • 6. Cook, stirring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • 7. Arrange on platter with patties.
  • 8. Serve with additional sauce.

1 cup cracker crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
3 pounds ground beef
All-purpose flour
2 to 3 tablespoons canola oil
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine water, cracker crumbs and salt; add beef and mix well. Press into a 15x10x1-in. baking pan lined with waxed paper. Cover and refrigerate overnight. , Cut the meat into 12 squares. Coat each square lightly with flour. In a large skillet, cook over medium heat in oil, a few pieces at a time, until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear; drain. , Remove waxed paper from the baking pan; spread the soup in bottom of pan. This is for you potluck peolpe. A family favorite my grandma made this one. Its just a remix versions because where she use white rice I use yellow.

2 lbs ground beef
1 (8 ounce) box yellow rice
48 ounces tomato sauce
onion, 1 Large
minced garlic clove, 2
1 teaspoon black pepper
adobo seasoning, season to taste

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef in large pot. Add onion, garlic, pepper, adobo to taste.
  • Brown together til thiers not more pink in the meat. Strain off any extra greased. Add both jars of sauces put on low simmer.
  • Cook yellow rice as driected on the box. When rice is down transfer rice to large pot with the meat sauce.
  • Stir together serve as is enjoy.

This sounds a little weird, but I swear by it. My mom always made it when I was a kid. Now as an adult I make it for company all the time and it is my families fav recipes! They love it!

1 lb bacon
8 -10 hot dogs
1 large onion
2 eggs, whisked
4 cups cooked white rice (give or take, be altered to feed more)
1/2 cup ketchup
7 -8 dashes soy sauce (to taste)
salt and pepper
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Cut bacon in to bite size pieces and cook in a large frying pan till half done.
  • Cut up onion into chunks and add to bacon.
  • Cut hot dogs into bite size pieces add to bacon cook till nicely browned.
  • Heat oil in a large pan, you can use a pot or wok anything you have that will fit all ingredients and allow you to stir.
  • Add all ingredients to oil.
  • Stir quickly for 3-4 minute
  • Garnish with more ketchup.
  • Enjoy!
