1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. sour cream
1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh chives, plus more for topping
1 garlic clove
1/2 tsp. kosher salt, plus a pinch
3 tbsp. buttermilk
Black pepper, to taste
1/2 head iceberg lettuce, cut into 2 wedges
2 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • For the dressing: Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, parsley, and chives in a medium bowl and stir until smooth. Finely chop the garlic, then sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Smash the garlic with the flat side of a knife until it becomes a paste, then add it to the dressing. Stir in the buttermilk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and a few grinds of black pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Place each lettuce wedge on a plate. Spoon some of the dressing on top, then sprinkle with the cheese and more chives. Serve the remaining dressing on the side.

1 clove (to 2 cloves) garlic
Salt, to taste
1/4 c. Italian flat-leaf parsley
2 tbsp. fresh chives
1 c. (real) mayonnaise
1/2 c. sour cream
buttermilk (as needed to desired consistency)
White vinegar (optional, to taste)
Worcestershire sauce, to taste (optional)
Fresh dill (optional, to taste)
Cayenne pepper (optional, to taste)
Paprika, to taste (optional)
Fresh oregano (optional, to taste)
Tabasco (optional, to taste)

Steps:

  • Mince the garlic with a knife and then sprinkle about an 1/8 to ΒΌ teaspoons of salt on it and mash it into a paste with a fork. Chop the parsley, chives and any of the optional herbs very finely and add to the garlic.
  • In a bowl, combine all ingredients, adding other optional ingredients as you wish, tasting frequently and adjusting seasonings as needed. 1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4-1/2 cup milk (depending on how thick you want the dressing) or 1/4-1/2 cup buttermilk (depending on how thick you want the dressing)
1/4 cup chopped flat leaf parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 dash hot sauce
2 heads iceberg lettuce

Steps:

1 large head iceberg lettuce, cut into large wedges
1 cup grape tomatoes, split down the middle
2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley, for garnish
2 cloves garlic, minced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
extra-virgin olive oil
Bleu cheese dressing:
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
6 ounces (3/4 cup) crumbled mild blue cheese such
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Steps:

  • Remove outer leaves of lettuce and wash thoroughly in cold water. Drain and pat dry with paper towels then split into wedges and arrange on plates. Scatter grape tomato halves over and around the lettuce.

1/2 teaspoon white vinegar

Dash hot sauce

2 heads iceberg lettuce, cut into wedges
3 pounds carrots, shredded

Steps:

  • For the parmesan-peppercorn ranch: Put the mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan, parsley, green onions, peppercorns, Worcestershire, vinegar, salt, hot sauce and garlic in a blender or food processor and blend to combine. 4 slices thick-cut bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar or Cheddar-Jack

  • In a medium skillet, fry the bacon slices until slightly crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside to cool.
