This bread pudding is easy, convenient, versatile, and delicious. Every time I take it to church or school everyone asks for the recipe because it's the best bread pudding they have ever tasted-I never have any leftovers. Number Of Ingredients 12

1 can (20 ounces) unsweetened pineapple chunks, undrained
10 cups cubed dinner rolls (about 17 rolls)
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
5 large eggs
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
SAUCE:
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple, reserving 1/3 cup juice. Place half of the bread cubes in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth; drop by tablespoonfuls over bread cubes. Top with remaining bread cubes and pineapple., In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and reserved pineapple juice until blended; pour over pineapple. Refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight., Preheat oven to 350°. Remove bread pudding from refrigerator while oven heats. Bake, uncovered, until lightly browned, 25-35 minutes., In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until butter is melted. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Just before serving, drizzle over warm bread pudding.

2 cups self-rising flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup canned crushed pineapple in juice
2 eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1/2 teaspoon pineapple extract

Steps:

  • Using a large mixing bowl, sift the flour and sugar and mix together.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the pineapple, eggs, oil, and add to the flour mixture, mix well.
  • Fold in the cheese, nuts, and pineapple extract.
  • Pour mixture into a greased 9 by 3-inch loaf pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • At 350 degrees.

This sweet pineapple cheese bread is a recipe from 1965... and is good enough to be served without anything spread on it- but I always like to spread a little cream cheese on it anyway.Great toasted too!

2 c all purpose flour,sifted
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c granulated sugar
1 large egg
8 oz can crushed pineapple,undrained
2 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 c walnuts, chopped medium fine
1/2 c medium fine grated sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325^. Grease an 8x4 inch glass loaf dish.Set aside.If desired dust dish with granulated sugar in pan. Sift together the dry ingredients on a piece of wax paper. Set aside.
  • 2. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the egg until thick and ivory color; stir in undrained crushed pineapple and butter. Add sifted dry ingredients; stir until combined. Fold in walnuts and cheese.
  • 3. Pour into prepared dish. Bake in a slow oven 325^ for 50-60 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 4. Turn bread out on wire rack; then turn right side up on rack; cool. Loaf will slice best after storing in a tightly covered container overnight or tightly wrapped in the refrigerator.

This is called here in The Netherlands a 'pan pizza' now. When I grew up my mother made this for us as a treat and we just called it 'bread from the frying pan'!

1 slice bread
butter, for spreading on the bread
1 slice ham
1 pineapple ring, drained
1 slice cheese, that melts well
ground paprika (to garnish) (optional)

Steps:

  • You will need a frying pan with a lid.
  • Heat frying pan on medium heat, butter the bread on one side.
  • Put in the pan and butter the side that is up.
  • When browned turn over the slice and put on first: the ham, then pineapple and then the cheese on the toasted side.
  • Lower the heat, cover the pan with a lid and cook for a few minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Sprinkle with some paprika powder and serve.

  • Pour into greased loaf pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour. Cool and turn out bread from pan. Allow to cool completely before slicing
