Time 1h50m

Number Of Ingredients 6

8-10 Pound Spiral Cut Ham (Bone-In, pre-cooked)
1/2 Cup Honey
1/2 Cup Stone Ground Mustard
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Ham Drippings
1/2 Cup Water

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Place the ham onto the rack in a roasting pan.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water to the bottom of the pan. I also like to add in extra ham juices from the bag the ham came in.
  • Wrap the the top in aluminum foil. Make sure you have a tight wrap where the ham can steam inside.
  • Bake for 10 minutes per pound. My ham was 8 pounds so I cooked it 80 minutes.
  • When there is 20 minutes left for your ham to cook, begin the glaze.
  • Using a basting syringe, pull 1/2 cup worth of ham drippings and put the liquid in a non-stick pan on the stove-top. Make sure to cover the ham back up well.
  • Along with the ham drippings, add honey, stone ground mustard and brown sugar. Bring the glaze to a low simmer and let simmer for 5 minutes. Set to the side.
  • After the ham has reached an Internal temperature of 140 degrees, take it out of the oven and raise the oven temperature to 425 degrees.
  • Remove the foil and pour half the glaze over top of the ham.
  • Return to the oven for 10 minutes. Leave the foil off.
  • Pour the rest of the glaze over top and cook another 5-10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Yield 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (10-pound) smoked ham with rind, preferably shank end
1 cup unsweetened apple juice or apple cider
1/2 cup whole grain Dijon mustard
2/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
1/4 cup honey

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Place ham in large roasting pan. Pour apple juice over ham. Cover ham completely with parchment paper, then cover ham and roasting pan completely with heavy-duty foil, sealing tightly at edges of pan. Bake ham until instant-read thermometer inserted into center of ham registers 145°F, about 3 hours 45 minutes. Remove ham from oven. Increase oven temperature to 375°F.
  • Remove foil and parchment from ham. Drain and discard liquids from roasting pan. Cut off rind and all but 1/4-inch-thick layer of fat from ham and discard. Using long sharp knife, score fat in 1-inch-wide, 1/4-inch-deep diamond pattern. Spread mustard evenly over fat layer on ham. Pat brown sugar over mustard coating, pressing firmly to adhere. Drizzle honey evenly over. Bake until ham is well glazed, spooning any mustard and sugar glaze that slides into roasting pan back over ham, about 30 minutes. Transfer ham to serving platter; let cool at least 45 minutes. Slice ham and serve slightly warm or at room temperature.

Time 2h10m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

One 9-pound bone-in spiral-sliced ham
1 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh thyme

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Place the ham in a small roasting pan, cut-side down, and pour 1/2 cup water into the bottom of the pan. Cover the pan tightly with foil. Bake until the ham is heated through, about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Meanwhile, combine the honey, brown sugar, butter, Dijon mustard, whole-grain mustard and thyme in a small saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat until the sugar has dissolved, about 2 minutes.
  • Increase the oven temperature to 375 degrees F. While the ham is still hot, remove the foil and carefully pour off the water from the roasting pan; it is fine if a little water remains. Brush about half of the glaze over the ham. Return to the oven, uncovered, for 5 minutes, until the ham is golden brown and beginning to glaze. Brush with the remaining glaze and bake for another 7 to 10 minutes, until the ham is well-browned and glazy; be careful not to let the glaze burn. Serve warm.

HONEY MUSTARD-GLAZED HAM

Honey Mustard-Glazed Ham image

Provided by Trisha Yearwood

Categories     main-dish

Time 6h

Yield 20 to 30 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 18- to 20-pound water-added smoked ham, hock removed
2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup clover honey
1 cup country dijon mustard (or 1/2 cup each regular dijon mustard and mayonnaise)

Steps:

  • Adjust the oven racks to accommodate a large roasting pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Fit the pan with a shallow rack.
  • Unwrap the ham and rinse it in cold water. Place it on the rack in the roasting pan. Cover the pan with aluminum foil, leaving a 2-inch opening to allow steam to escape. Bake the ham for half the estimated cooking time, about 3 hours. (Total cooking time is about 20 minutes per pound.)
  • Add the brown sugar and honey to a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the mustard.
  • Pour the mixture over the ham. Continue baking the ham, uncovered, basting occasionally with the drippings in the roaster, for the remaining time, about 3 more hours. Check for doneness by inserting a meat thermometer into a meaty part of the ham, avoiding any fat or bone. The thermometer should register 160 degrees F.
  • Allow the ham to stand 15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices inside the ham to set.

BROWN SUGAR AND MUSTARD BAKED HAM

Brown Sugar and Mustard Baked Ham image

This recipe may sound a bit strange, but my family has been making baked ham this way for generations and everyone loves it! It has a wonderful flavor and is so tender and never dry. It's always a huge hit and so simple to make. Prep and cooking time is based on a 6 pound ham, but any size ham can be used. The idea is to cover the ham with mustard and brown sugar, so amounts should be adjusted depending upon the size of the ham. I noticed in the nutrition information that shows one serving to be 1000 calories! I'm certain this is not correct and probably is figuring the bone in the serving size. Don't be afraid to try it! :-)

Time 2h10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (6 lb) bone-in ham
1 (12 ounce) can 7-Up soda or 1 (12 ounce) can ginger ale
1/4 cup yellow mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Rinse ham in water. I find some brands of ham are saltier than others so ham can be soaked in water for one hour to prevent saltiness.
  • Pat ham dry and place flat (cut) side down in roasting pan.
  • Pour entire can of 7UP or ginger ale over ham.
  • Bake in 325°F oven for 20 minutes per pound.
  • Baste ham every 1/2 hour.
  • When there is about 20 minutes left to cook, take ham out and cover the entire ham (except the flat side) with yellow mustard. I just squirt it out of the bottle all over the ham and then spread it with a spatula. Then cover ham with the brown sugar. For this I usually use my hands.
  • Return ham to the oven until cooking time is finished. Do not baste after mustard and brown sugar have been added.
  • Put on platter and slice. Ham juices from pan can be served in a gravy boat to drizzle over sliced ham.
