It's hard to believe I started making this tart punch 30 years ago. It's definitely a tried-and-true recipe!-Lavonne Hartel, Williston, North Dakota

Yield 3 quarts.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1-1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
2 cups whole milk
1 tablespoon lemon extract
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest, optional
2 liters lemon-lime soda, chilled
Ice cubes

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat sugar and lemon juice on high speed for 3 minutes or until sugar is partially dissolved. Gradually beat in milk. Stir in lemon extract and zest if desired. Chill. Stir in soda just before serving. Serve in chilled glasses over ice.

I love Lemonade! I'm on the HCG diet and was missing it. This recipe does the trick with a kick of orange zest (0cals!). Be sure to use Stevia (the only HCG approved sweetner)

1 whole lemon, peeled
1 Tbsp orange zest (grate the skin of the orange)
16 oz water, cold
ice cubes
stevia, sweeten to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Peel your lemon, grate your orange, add water, cubes and stevia to your blender. THE WHOLE LEMON!
  • 2. Blend till slushie, add as many cubes as needed to get your preferred slush.
  • 3. You are allowed one lemon a day on the HCG diet! Modify by adding strawberries and/or fresh mint. Add vodka for happy hour! Super refreshing

1 cup fat-free milk
3/4 cup lemon yogurt
1 can (6 ounces) frozen unsweetened orange juice concentrate
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon orange extract
15 ice cubes
5 long strips orange or lemon zest, twisted into spirals

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine the first 7 ingredients; cover and process until slushy. Pour into chilled glasses. Garnish with orange or lemon zest spirals. Serve immediately.

This is a summer delight! I found this several years ago in a magazine. It's addictive, and it's a breeze to mix up. Go ahead! Pour yourself a glass of summer!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
2 cups milk (I used 1%)
1 tablespoon lemon extract
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon, rind of
2 liters carbonated lemon-lime beverage, well-chilled (7-up)

Steps:

  • Beat sugar and lemon juice on high speed for 3 minutes or until sugar is partially dissolved.
  • Gradually add milk, beating constantly on high.
  • Stir in lemon extract and lemon peel.
  • Transfer this lemon/sugar mixture to serving pitcher.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Just before serving, gently stir in soda.
  • Best served over ice.
  • This could possibly be made with Splenda, and also might be tasty with orange juice/extract instead of lemon.
