This is my own recipe. I make these a lot for gatherings. Everyone always seems to enjoy them. The combination of the ingredients make them PERFECT!

Number Of Ingredients 14

3 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 ½ cups chopped celery
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon grill seasoning
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (28 ounce) bottle ketchup
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup water

Steps:

  • Cook the ground beef, onion, and celery in a large skillet over medium-high until the meat is fully cooked; drain off the excess liquid. Mix in the garlic, salt, pepper, grill seasoning, cumin, paprika, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and water. Reduce the heat to low and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Serve on toast or hamburger buns.

ROAST BEEF AND HORSERADISH FINGER SANDWICHES



Roast Beef and Horseradish Finger Sandwiches image

1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt
Pepper
12 slices crusty bread, sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 pounds roast beef, sliced thin
Romaine lettuce

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill. Mix together the sour cream, horseradish and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Brush the bread slice with the olive oil. Place the bread on a grill and grill for 2 minutes per side, until the bread becomes crunchy. Remove the bread from the grill and cut each slice in half. On 12 of the bread halves, spread some of the horseradish sauce. Top the sauce with 2 ounces of roast beef. Top the beef with 1 leaf of Romaine lettuce. Place the remaining bread halves on top of the Romaine.

BROILED FIG AND GORGONZOLA FINGER SANDWICHES



Broiled Fig and Gorgonzola Finger Sandwiches image

1 loaf French bread, sliced into 1/4 inch thick slices
Olive oil
9 fresh figs, sliced in half
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
18 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Brush broth sides of the bread slices with olive oil and place on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Turn the bread slices over and bake for another 5 minutes, or until toasted. Remove from the oven and cool. Preheat the broiler to high. Place each of the fig halves on a slice of toasted bread. Season with salt and pepper. Top with 1 ounce of crumbled gorgonzola. Place on a baking sheet. Broil the fig and gorgonzola sandwiches for 1 minute, or just until the cheese begins to melt. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with toasted walnuts. Top each sandwich with another slice of bread. Serve.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound lean ground turkey
1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
6 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook turkey and onion over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink, breaking up turkey into crumbles; drain if necessary. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in sugar, flour and pepper until blended., Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and barbecue sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 10 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Spoon meat mixture onto bun bottoms; replace tops. Freeze option: Freeze cooled meat mixture in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a saucepan, stirring occasionally and adding a little water if necessary.
