If you like jalapeno poppers, you will love these fried wontons stuffed with cheese and jalapeno!

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (4 ounce) can diced jalapeno peppers
2 cloves garlic, pressed
3 green onions, diced
1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeno peppers, garlic and green onions.
  • Fill wonton wrappers with approximately 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture each. Fold wrappers into triangles and press the edges with a moistened fork to seal.
  • In a large, deep skillet, heat the oil over medium high heat. Drop 4 wontons at a time into the oil and quickly fry, turning once. Remove when golden brown and drain on paper towels.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (4 ounce) can diced jalapeno peppers
20 (3.5 inch square) wonton wrappers
½ cup sweet chili sauce
oil for deep frying

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese and jalapeno peppers. Arrange wonton wrappers a few at a time on a clean dry surface. Set a cup or small bowl of water nearby. Place about a teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each wrapper. Moisten your fingertip in the bowl of water and trace the edges of the wonton wrappers. Fold into triangles or follow directions on the package for desired shapes. This part can be done ahead of time and refrigerated or frozen.
  • Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). When hot, fry the wontons a few at a time until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with all of the wontons, then serve with the sweet chili sauce for dipping.

12 mini phyllo tart shells
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
bacon bits

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place phyllo cups onto a baking sheet.
  • Stir together cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, jalapenos, and hot sauce in a bowl. Spoon mixture into phyllo cups. Sprinkle bacon bits on top. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm.

1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
3 green onions, diced
black pepper
1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
1 quart vegetable oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl mix together cream cheese, Monterey jack cheese, jalapeno peppers, garlic and green onions; mix well to combine then season with a little black pepper.
  • Fill the wonton wrappers with approximately 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture.
  • Fold wrappers into triangles then press with a moistened fork to seal (or seal edges as desired).
  • In a large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat.
  • Drop 3-4 wontons in at a time into the oil, and quickly fry, turning once until golden brown.
  • Remove to paper towels.
