HOMEMADE FROZEN MARGARITAS RECIPE BY TASTY

Homemade Frozen Margaritas Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: tequila, limeade, orange juice, baking dish

Provided by Tasty

Categories     Drinks

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

25 oz tequila
34 oz limeade, lemonade can also work in a pinch
2 cups orange juice
3 qt baking dish, or similar container

Steps:

  • Combine the tequila, limeade (or lemonade), and orange juice in your dish, give it a stir.
  • Pop it in the freezer for at least five hours. Once it's frozen into a solid, you're ready to serve
  • Take it out of the freezer and, using a spoon, scrape along the surface to pull up beautiful shards of frozen margarita (the motion is somewhere between scooping up ice cream and scraping off a car windshield in winter).
  • Feel free to play around with the ratio on this - it'll work with a bit less tequila and more juice, or a bit more tequila and less juice (whatever kind of party you're looking for). Salted rim totally optional.
  • Enjoy!

FROZEN MARGARITAS

Purists may disdain frozen margaritas, but purists don't have the upper hand in San Antonio. This version keeps it simple, with fresh lime juice, tequila, sugar, and lots of ice blended into a frosty mass and served in a salt-rimmed glass.

EASY FROZEN MARGARITAS

Easy Frozen Margaritas image

Authentic margaritas call for lots of fresh lime juice - both expensive and time-consuming. I've found I can shortcut the process by using frozen limeade. And for a festive non-alcoholic drink, combine a 12-ounce can of limeade (thawed) with a 48-ounce bottle of sparkling water.

Categories     World Cuisine Recipes     Latin American     Mexican

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 quarts ice cubes
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
12 fluid ounces tequila (measure with empty limeade can)
¼ cup Cointreau
margarita or kosher salt for the rims
lime slices cut in half

Steps:

  • Working in 2 batches, place 1 quart ice cubes in a blender. Add 1/2 can limeade, 6 ounces tequila and 2 tablespoons Cointreau. Blend at highest speed until drink is almost smooth. Pour into a pitcher and repeat with remaining ingredients. Store in the freezer.
  • To salt the margarita glasses, pour a single layer of salt on a salad plate. Moisten each glass rim with lime; dip each rim in the salt. Pour margaritas into each glass; garnish with lime. Serve immediately.
