2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons garlic powder, divided
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
1/2 cup butter, softened
6 slices provolone cheese
6 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 jar (14 ounces) spaghetti sauce, warmed

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine beef and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Shape into six thin patties. Pan-fry until no longer pink. Meanwhile, cut bread in half lengthwise. Combine butter and remaining garlic powder; spread over cut sides of bread. On the bottom half, layer provolone cheese, beef patties and the mozzarella cheese. Replace bread top. Wrap in a large piece of heavy-duty foil (about 28 in. x 18 in.). Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and sandwich is heated through. Cut loaf between each patty. Serve with spaghetti sauce for dipping.

This recipe makes very flavorful burgers. The secret is refrigerating the meat after adding the other ingredients. Use ground round or sirloin for the best results.

3 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian-style seasoning

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together the beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
  • Preheat grill for high heat.
  • Form burgers into 1/2 inch thick patties. Lightly oil grate. Place burgers on grill. Cook for approximately 6 minutes, turning once.

Cooking the garlic in the pan mellows the flavor a bit, similar to if you were roasting it in the oven. We loved the sauce too ... make extra for dipping. It's the perfect touch. 1 lb ground beef
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp red pepper flakes, divided
1 tsp salt and pepper, divided
6 clove garlic
6 slice onion
6 slice pre-cooked bacon
6 slice pepper jack cheese
2 Tbsp olive oil mayo
1 tsp smoky sweet onion mustard
6 Grand biscuits

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2. Add ground beef to a bowl and add the Worcestershire sauce. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.
  • 3. Add to the bowl 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Combine with your hands.
  • 4. Make six small patties.
  • 5. Cook patties over medium-low heat for 5 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
  • 6. While the patties are cooking add the six garlic cloves to center of pan and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until tender.
  • 7. Let patties cool slightly on a paper towel with the garlic.
  • 8. In the same, skillet cook the onion until tender, about 4 minutes.
  • 9. Cook the bacon according to the box.
  • 10. Take each biscuit and pull apart to make 12 halves.
  • 11. Use a small class or biscuit cutter to cut the cheese into six circles.
  • 12. Put a piece of cheese on six halves the biscuits.
  • 13. Put a patty on top of the cheese.
  • 14. Cut the bacon into and put a half on top of each patty.
  • 15. Put a slice of onion on top of bacon. Then smash each garlic clove and add to the top of onion.
  • 16. In a small bowl, stir together the mayo and mustard. Add the rest of the salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir together.
  • 17. On the other six halves of biscuits add a teaspoon of the sauce.
  • 18. Grease a cookie sheet. Take the biscuit with the sauce on it and put over the top of the biscuit with the meat on it. Pull top over to the bottom and press to seal around the burger.
  • 19. Cook on greased cookie sheet for 15 to 20 minutes. Extra sauce can be made for dipping.

1 1/4 pounds 85% lean chuck beef
8 teaspoons garlic powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 slices mild cheddar cheese
4 slices Monterey jack cheese
1 loaf French bread
2 cups iceberg lettuce (, shredded)
2 slices yellow onion
1 large tomato (, sliced)
Hamburger chip pickles
Ketchup and mustard

Steps:

  • Prepare grill with Cowboy® Hardwood Lump Charcoal and light.
  • Divide the hamburger meat into 4 equal portions. Lightly form the meat into balls. Use the lid of a small saucepan (one that is slightly concave works best) and smash each ball into a patty.
  • Season each side of the patties with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Once grill is hot and coals have ashed over, spread the charcoal in the bottom of the grill and place the burgers on the grill grate. Cook the burgers undisturbed until browning at the edges and flip once. Add one slice of cheddar cheese and one slice of Monterey jack cheese to each burger. Top with the grill lid to melt the cheese.
  • Cut the french bread into 5-inch lengths and then slice in half. Press the bread down with your hand to flatten slightly.
  • Layer each french bread bun with 2 patties, lettuce, onions, tomato and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard. Slice in half and serve with potato chips and pepperoncinis on the side.
