11 cups thinly sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples (about 12 medium)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
ALMOND OAT TOPPING:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup cold butter
1/2 cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish., In a small bowl, combine the flour, oats and sugars. Cut in butter until crumbly; stir in almonds. Sprinkle over fruit mixture., Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 40-50 minutes or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

I don't know what Zaar will come up with, but here are the stats from Prevention: Serves 8, 156 calories, 1.7 g.fat, 2.1 g.dietary fiber, 5 g. protein, 32.6 g.carbs, 2 g.cholesterol, 80mg.sodium.

4 cups apples (sliced)
1/2 lemon, juice and zest of
3 tablespoons honey
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
3/4 cup egg substitute
1 cup low-fat granola cereal

Steps:

  • Coat 10 inch pie pan with no-stick spray.
  • In a large bowl, toss together apples, lemon rind, lemon juice and 1 T honey.
  • Spread in prepared dish.
  • In same bowl, whisk together yogurt, egg substitute, and remaining 2 T honey.
  • Pour over the apples.
  • Sprinkle w/the granola, leaving a 1-inch rim around the edge.
  • Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minute or until puffed and golden. Serve warm.
