1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup apple juice or 1 cup cider
2 lbs smoked link sausage (can use cocktail size if preferred)

Steps:

  • In large frying pan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch and seasonings.
  • Stir in apple juice and cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
  • Cut sausages in chunks and add to glaze mixture, turning to coat with glaze.
  • Reduce heat, cover and cook until sausages are heated thoroughly.

1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle dark beer, such as stout
½ cup pure maple syrup
¼ cup honey
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 (14 ounce) package Hillshire Farm Lit'l Smokies® Smoked Sausage
Sliced cheese for serving
Crackers for serving

Steps:

  • Combine the beer, syrup, honey, cornstarch, cinnamon and black pepper in a large skillet and bring to a boil, stirring frequently; reduce heat and simmer for 15 - 17 minutes, stirring frequently, until it has been reduced by half.
  • Add smoked sausages and continue cooking for 10 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove smoked sausages from the skillet and place into a serving dish, drizzle with sauce. Serve with cheese and crackers.
